This book focuses on the films and notable monsters of Godzilla's Showa Era, which lasted from 1954 to 1975. It includes descriptions and trivia on both movies and monsters that were created or first appeared during this initial phase of Godzilla movies. The publication is intended to draw in new and old fans by presenting information in a fun manner, generating revenue and interest for the franchise. The visual design of this book focuses on utilizing bitmapped images and bright colors that are overlaid on one another, contrasting and complimenting one another. All images used are sourced from Godzilla media of the Showa era.
