Class – Typography I

The following poster is a typographic exercise in creating evocative type to reflect the content of a quote. The quote that appears in this poster is by Oscar Wilde, from his play Lady Windermere's Fan. The design of the poster is focused on contrasting the grit of "gutter" and the wonder of "stars" through the use of texture and color. The "gutter" portion of the poster is dirty and gloomy, oozing down the page, while the "stars" portion becomes clearer and takes on a vibrant blue that peeks through the grime and becomes crossed by constellations.
